ServoPro Relaunches Sims2 Wiki Site
The other day a site came to my attention that impressed me so much I wanted to share with everybody. Simopedia has relaunched with a wikiopedia style database that is dedicated to the Sims2.
While there are not too many articles right now, the potential for this site to be a terrific resource is tremendous. I loved the idea of this so much I asked the team at ServoPro to provide a press release to post here, so everyone can be aware of their efforts and hopefully add to the community. Please take a moment and visit the Simopedia Community Portal and add your contribution.
A big 'THANK YOU' is extended to the very kind and professional staff at ServoPro for their efforts!
Below is the official press release.
After a period of absence near the end of 2006, ServoPro has relaunched our Sims 2 site in the new year with a totally new look. Using a wiki engine, we have completely rebuilt the site and we have opened the site up to all the fans in the Sim 2 community. We see this as a major milestone and hope to attract a large community of users to the site.
Although the number of articles in our site are initially quite low, we hope to build that throughout the year so that it will become a searchable database of Sim 2 information which can be accessed quickly and easily. Initially, we will be adding information on the game itself as well as the multitude of objects that come with The Sims 2. Eventually, we hope to open up the site to a wider range of Sims 2 content and information, such as information about user-generated content and objects.
We encourage Sims fans to visit our site and to feel free to make their mark on the web by posting any game strategies they have and helping their fellow Sims fans. We envision that the site will eventually be a place where fellow Simmers can come together for a free exchange of information and tips on the game. The site can be found at http://simopedia.servopro.com.
ServoPro is a Sims fansite which was started in 2004 with the goal of providing free Sims information to the Sims community.

Too Busy
I have been terribly busy the last several weeks. Work has really been hectic, but exciting, however, by the end of the day I have been to "fried" to think about anything. That is why my poor little site has started to suffer. I haven't been able to dedicate as much time as I would like, but things are starting to settle at the office and I am looking forward to getting back on top of running Sims2Inspired.
There is not much new to tell you about right now, except that Sims2 Pets is due out in a month. My dear husband is so excited he can hardly stand it. For a change I think he will be the one demanding we make it to the store when it is released!
In the mean time, keeping checking back to the site and the blog, hopefully you will find something new and useful for your simmies.
Until Next Time,
Happy Simming,
Simmeron

It's Been too Long
It's been awhile since anything has been posted here, so it's overdue.
The community support for Sims2Inspired has been terrific. Being associated with incredible artists is so flattering. Several artists, which have long been admired, have offered support and encouragement and it is just so rewarding! One of the main objectives for this directory was to be able to showcase these talented people and their wonderful work. Giving recognition to those that do so much to enhance the game.
Currently Sims2Inspired is working on adding an updates section. This will, hopefully, allow webmasters to be able to upload their update information. The goal is to be able to include pictures in the search results and have the listings display the newest to the oldest. Webmasters would need to sign up for an account before submission, then they can add as many sites and/or pages could be added and modified. This information would then instantly go "live". Basically, the idea is to create a real-time update. Of course, I am encountering technical difficulties since I don't know a lot about servers and configurations and blah blah blah... There is progress being made on this project and looking forward to the launch, but I am dealing with a serious learning curve.
In the meantime the sites that are currently listed in the directory are being moved to the most appropiate categories, webmasters are being notified and the titles and descriptions are being fine-tuned. Take a poke around - each one of the sites in the directory offer some free downloads, many of which I have had the privilege of downloading.
New submissions are welcome and greatly appreciated. Take a moment and recommend your favorite sites to the directory. (Don't worry, you don't have to sign up for an account, that will be for a completely different section =)
Happy Simming!

Stop Certain Autonomous Sims Behaviors
Here is another post inspired by my dear, wonderful husband.
While playing the game tonight he began to complain about how his sims would just start playing "punch me/punch you". I kinda know what he means, because once they start playing they don't want to stop! If you need them to do something quick that silly game can definitely create a delay.
I was certain someone had created a hack to be able to control this, so I did a little digging at one of my favorite sites, MTS2. Very quickly I found what he was looking for.
Monique has created several controls to eliminate some of the more annoying sims behaviors. Here you can see the sims2 autonomy controls that are available. They are listed for individual download, so you can mix and match what you want.
The controls on the above thread are listed for the following actions:
Play Juggle Cups
Water Baloon
Hang Out
Joy Buzzer
KickyBag
Pillow Fight
Play Handheld
Play Red Hands
Punch U Punch Me
School Cheer
VentriloFart
Play Chess
Play Music
Play Swings
Play Poker
Play Chess Max Logic OFB
Enjoy!
Happy Simming,
Simmeron

Sims2Inspired
There are so many talented artists out there making custom content for The Sims2 that I dediced to start a little directory for all of the terrific websites I have bookmarked. So far I have about 130 websites in the directory. Most of the sites listed offer free content, a few require a membership for full site access but even those sites should have a free downloads section.
The directory structure is still very rough and will be going through changes as the database grows. For the time being all of the sites that have been spidered are indexed under the Sims category. A few sites are listed in each category, but the directory listings are still pretty unorganized, but it is being worked on ... slowly.
Basically, what you have in place right now is a large list of human reviewed websites offering some of the best custom content for The Sims2.
I have personally visited (and most likely downloaded from) each of the sites here. A HUGE thank you to all of the imaginative and talented creators out there!!
Please remember when downloading from any Sims2 site to respect the creators. If a read me file is included with a download it is for a reason, be sure to check them. They will often contain information on where to find meshes and/or redistribution policies. If you are asked not to upload the creator's content - DO NOT UPLOAD IT! If a link is requested give the link. These people have contributed their time, talent and resources for us to be able to enjoy their art ... for FREE and that is overlooked way to often by too many people. Never forget that these artist are the reason you can have so much fun with your game and they ask for very little in return. So please play nice.
Take a few minutes and visit the sites listed in the directory. The diverisity offered makes it easy to find something for everyone.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
On another note, I ran across a site I don't believe I had been to before, EsseTiSimsRoyale. I think the sites primary language is Italian, but english translations are offered in most cases.
They were offering some really nice recolors of Xuan's beautiful objects, as well as some other very well done object recolors, floors, walls and terrain.
Xuan has really great downloads for a more traditional / old-fashioned / antiquie style that I really like, but I rarely see recolors. So, it was nice finding these, especially since they are so well done. By the way if anyone else has ran across recolors of Xuan's objects please let me know. Thanks!
Happy Simming,
Simmeron
